Love & Business

Love and Business. It isn’t often that we hear those two words together.  Up until now, I always thought that love had no place in the business world. Yesterday, I was proven wrong. During the Success Redefined Kickoff, there were almost 70 amazing professionals in one room. We were all dedicated to getting know each other on a deeper level. It was a perfect example of love and business.

This is what Success Redefined is all about – having a conversation about who we are, not what we do. We don’t live separate lives at work and at home, we are one integrated being. What if we can start to integrate our feelings and our love into our work?

There are many professionals that know how to ‘get shit done’, but many of us don’t connect love and empathy into the business equation. We have spent the past century learning how to use our skills to make money that will improve our own lives. We focus our time at work on accomplishment and achievement; at least I did, at just about any cost. That is, until we realize that we are here to improve the lives of everyone around us, not just ourselves.

When we make the shift from building businesses for our own personal gain and the well-being of our families to the well-being of the world around us, our lives shift. Yesterday was one of those shifts.

The love that poured out of my heart brought tears to my eyes, and I received so much love in return. We all saw the potential of a community of like-hearted, like-minded professionals that are self-aware, want to leave this planet better than they found it, get shit done and are total givers. That is our tribe, and I can’t wait to see how we can build each other up to our highest potential!

To a life well lived.

Outstanding. Sorry I wasn’t able to be there this time. Happy for you! – Jeff On Jan 21, 2016 12:08 PM, “Larry Kesslin” wrote:

I agree that is what a purpose driven mission is all about. Certainly my office is a business and it is what puts food on the table. However, I have never thought of it as work. As it has been said if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life.
