Day 2 Touring in Sydney

We left the apartment around 10 AM yesterday to head over to see Josh Wood speak down at the Doltone House on Darling Harbor. Josh is the young quadriplegic that we met in Melbourne who is building a professional speaking career. It was relatively warm in the morning. We started out on a bus to Bondi Junction and then transferred to the train to Town Hall. The GPS said less than a mile to the facility so we decided to walk. Well, most of the walk was in the sun and it just kept getting hotter and hotter. Next time it might have been worth the taxi ride, but we made it exactly when we said we would.

Josh was the keynote speaker for the AFA (Association of Financial Advisors). He was there to motivate this group of 200 financial professionals and help them realize how important it is for people to have the financial house in order. Josh is an amazing human being and he gave a really good talk. Now, I have seen thousands of speeches and I would say that Josh was good, but he has the material and personality to be AMAZING! He has a great sense of humor and knows how to tell jokes in moments of discomfort. He has an amazing tale of his journey and the moment that his life changed when he hit the pavement and broke his neck. The audience was very appreciative and we spent a few minutes with him afterwards before he headed off to a meeting with Red Bull in Sydney. I look forward to future conversations with Josh and helping him move his career forward.

From there we headed to lunch in a big casino down on Darling Harbor. The air conditioning felt really good and the food was so much better than the greasy fish and chips we had the day before. From there we headed to the ferry to get over to Circular Quay and go for a speed boat ride around the harbor on the ThunderJet. Well, I thought it would be fun but the kids said it was the best thing we have done on the trip! We spun around and got totally soaked because we were all in the back of the boat. Karley looked like she was a bit scared, but she laughed her way to the end and enjoyed it. Ilise was screaming but is excited about possibly doing it again later on the trip. We will see.

We headed back to our apartment by bus and I planned to go down to the ocean to take some more pictures at dusk but decided to take a short nap around 6:30. Well, I ended up waking up at 6:48 AM this morning! I guess I was a bit tired after two plus weeks on the go. So, it was a great day and I got some much needed rest at the end.
Until next time!
