A Work in Progress
Over the past few months I continue to learn so much about myself on my journey through life. At times we can be extremely critical of ourselves and question so many things, but in the end we are all just a work in progress. As I continue to search for meaning beyond success it has become clear to me that there is no “there.” We are where we are at each moment of each day and we have an opportunity to make new decisions.
I had an opportunity to speak with a group of entrepreneurs about two weeks ago and the message of finding meaning beyond success resonated very loudly. As a culture I believe that we strive our whole lives to be successful and then when it comes what does it really mean? You can collect more toys and buy more things, but does that bring more fulfillment and in the end more joy? I don’t think so.
From the work I have been doing, joy comes from spending time with others that share your mission and purpose in life. I am calling this shared common purpose. Working with others that want to achieve what you want to achieve is critical. In our business I want our clients to get where they want to go and our team helps them get there. Working alongside talented individuals who know how to get results is amazing. We can’t do it alone, we need others to help us fulfill our vision!
Over the coming years I look forward to building more teams of talented people that want to improve other people’s lives. In the end, I want to leave this planet better than I found it, and doing it with others that have a shared purpose is the solution!
